Doha: As part of its “World Class Chefs” project, Qatar Tourism brought eight of world’s most celebrated chefs to participate in the 11th edition of Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2021, which is taking place at Al Bidda Park until December 17.
The three week-long festival is one of the largest and longest-running international food festivals in the region, combining gastronomic experiences, culinary arts and family entertainment for residents and visitors.
Berthold Trenkel from Qatar Tourism said: “Our vision behind the World Class Chefs project is to promote Qatar as a regional hub in gastronomy and a world-class culinary destination rooted in Service Excellence. Qatar Tourism has been contributing to Qatar’s thriving food scene through its annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) and initiatives such as Chefs of Qatar and Qatar Clean programme. We are excited to bring internationally renowned chefs to this year’s QIFF edition to offer residents and visitors unique gastronomic experiences from gourmet offerings to authentic dishes.”
The “World Class Chefs” project is a two-year long initiative which aims to host high-profile chefs from around the world, with the purpose of exploring investment opportunities by introducing the world’s top culinary talent to the emerging hub of gastronomy in the Middle East.
The following World Class Chefs participated in the 11th edition of QIFF:
· Chef Jannis Brevet (Germany – 3 Michelin Stars)
· Chef kei Kobayashi (Japan – 3 Michelin stars)
· Chef David kinch (USA - 3 Michelin stars)
· Chef Christian le Squer (France - 3 Michelin stars)
· Chef Gilles Goujon (France - 3 Michelin stars)
· Chef Heinz Beck (Germany - 3 Michelin stars)
· Chef Frederic Jaunault (France - French and European champion of sculpture art using fruit and vegetables)
· Chef Jean Thomas Schneider (France - World Pastry Champion and World Ice Cream Champion)
