Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing work with all countries and partners to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

This came in Qatar’s statement delivered by Third Secretary at Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Mohammed Hassan Al-Emadi during a meeting of the Second Committee of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly on Agenda Item 17, “Sustainable Development,” at the UN headquarters in New York.

Al-Emadi said Qatar continues to implement its national vision, Qatar National Vision 2030, to achieve sustainable and inclusive development. Through its Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030, the country is also working towards a more diversified and sustainable economy while strengthening the role of all sectors. He added that Qatar remains committed to enhancing international multilateral development cooperation and translating this commitment into practical action through the Qatar Fund for Development’s long-term partnerships with the United Nations system and international institutions.

Multi-year partnerships with UN agencies reflect Qatar’s commitment to providing more flexible support to advance sustainable development, he said.

Al-Emadi noted that Qatar continues to play a role in hosting international conferences that contribute to advancing the global development agenda. These include the Second World Summit for Social Development, held in Doha in 2025, and preparations to host the high-level midterm comprehensive review of the Doha Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries in March 2027.

Addressing the current situation in the region, he said Qatar had condemned attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran targeting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and territorial waters, as well as attacks against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of brotherly countries.
