Sharm El Sheikh: Egyptian President H E Abdel Fattah El Sisi has praised the sincere efforts by Qatar, the United States, and Turkiye to reach the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
In his speech yesterday at the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit, El Sisi affirmed his support for the implementation of the peace plan, which would create the necessary political horizon for implementing the two-state solution, as it is the only way to achieve the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples to end the conflict and live in security.
President El Sisi reiterated his thanks to the partners in the US, Turkiye, and Qatar for their sincere efforts.
He emphasised Egypt’s support and eagerness to see the plan implemented, arguing that it creates the essential political space needed for the two-state solution to materialise, which is the only way for the Palestinian and Israeli peoples to realise their legitimate ambition to end the conflict and live safely.
He further clarified that since all peoples in the region enjoy their right to independent nation-states, the Palestinian people are “no exception.” He asserted their right to self-determination, to look forward to a future free from the spectre of war, and to enjoy freedom and live in their own independent state.
King Abdullah II of Jordan said the ceasefire in Gaza is an important step that must pave the way for the end of this war.
In a post on the X platform yesterday, the Jordanian King said, “Gaza ceasefire is a key step to ending the war, so that Gazans live in safety and receive aid unhindered. Grateful to President Trump and the efforts of Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye. Jordan will continue supporting Palestinians’ pursuit of freedom and statehood on their national soil.”
Prime Minister of Pakistan H E Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also praised the efforts by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and thanked him for the Gaza peace deal.
Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, H E Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, welcomed the signing of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, asserting that it is an important step toward alleviating the suffering endured by the Palestinian people over the past two years.
In a post on his Facebook page yesterday, Dbeibah stated that this step would pave the way for reconstruction efforts and the restoration of stability in the region. He commended the constructive role played by the US President and the fruitful mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye, which contributed to achieving the deal.
