Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s construction sector is clearly on an upward trajectory, reflecting the country’s continued investment in infrastructure, real estate and industrial expansion.
The Big 5 Construct Qatar which begins today will feature over 250 international and regional brands from across 25 countries, offering solutions spanning the full construction value chain, said Samer Itani, Portfolio Commercial Director of dmg events in an interview with The Peninsula.
The growth ahead spans every layer of the value chain, from transport and utilities to mixed-use developments and sustainable urban projects. However, with this scale comes greater demand for skilled talent, modern construction technologies and more resilient supply chains. This is where industry events such as Big 5 Construct Qatar, co-located with INDEX Design Qatar, become important, he added.
He further noted that it brings together the suppliers, contractors and decision-makers who make ongoing and upcoming projects possible, helping to ensure the right expertise and partnerships are in place to support sustainable growth and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Qatar construction market size is estimated at $68.70bn in 2025 and is expected to reach $106.33bn by 2030, at a CAGR of 9.13% during the forecast period (2025-2030).
Elaborating about the significance of Qatar hosting Big 5 Construct Qatar from October 14-16, 2025 and the new features in this year’s edition, Itani noted that hosting Big 5 Construct Qatar supports the country’s commitment to advancing its built environment in line with national development priorities and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The exhibition aims to bridge local project demand and international supply capabilities, enabling knowledge transfer, technology sourcing and long-term business partnerships.
This year’s edition will host Big 5 Talks, a CPD-certified series of sessions covering key themes such as sustainability, modular construction, project management and construction technology.
Additionally, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism, the event introduces the Hosted Buyer Programme. This initiative invites senior construction and procurement professionals to connect directly with suppliers, evaluate new products and establish strategic sourcing relationships across Qatar’s construction market, he added.
Alongside product showcases, the event will also host sector-focused networking opportunities, including an exclusive session organized by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), bringing together contractors, consultants, project managers and procurement leaders for structured business matchmaking and peer-to-peer engagement.
