Cairo: The State of Qatar, represented by the Public Prosecution, participated in the sixth meeting of the Arab Association for Prosecutors, held in New Alamein City in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Public Prosecution delegation to the meeting was headed by First Attorney General and Director of the Judicial Inspection Department Abdullah Mohammed Al Malki, with several Public Prosecution members also attending.
Participants discussed approving amendments to the Association's governing principles, including establishing the terms of office for members of the Executive Committee.
They also addressed the establishment of the Association's permanent headquarters in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the completion of its administrative structure and the development of its digital documentation registry.
The sessions included a discussion of the financial position and discussions on proposed workshops for 2026. Meetings of the focal points, the Executive Committee and the General Assembly also featured in-depth discussions on key issues.
On institutional and international matters, participants discussed ways to engage with the League of Arab States to strengthen the Association's presence, approved engagement with the European Union Agency in accordance with a draft memorandum of understanding prepared by the General Secretariat, and examined amendments to the Riyadh Arab Agreement for Judicial Cooperation.
They also discussed a proposal to launch an annual award honoring distinguished members of the public prosecution services of member states, in addition to addressing other matters contained in the General Secretariat's report.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Qatari Public Prosecutor Nasser Ali Al Nuaimi was honored with the Association's annual Distinguished Members Award, which is presented to member states, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the legal field.
This marked the first participation by Qatar's Public Prosecution since joining the Association, reflecting the State's commitment to strengthening joint Arab cooperation, exchanging expertise and supporting the advancement of legal development across the Arab region.
