Paris: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Qatar Digital Academy, organized today the second edition of the Executive Leadership in Artificial Intelligence program, with the participation of 24 officials from various ministries and government entities. The program is held at the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in France, in cooperation with Microsoft Qatar, and will continue until the day after tomorrow Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The ministry stated in a press release that the program is part of its ongoing efforts to develop national capabilities and enhance the readiness of the government sector to benefit from the potentials of artificial intelligence and to employ them strategically and responsibly in developing institutional performance, services, and supporting decision-making.
Ms. Reem Al-Mansouri, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized in a speech on the occasion that developing leadership capabilities is a fundamental element in transforming the potentials of artificial intelligence into practical applications and solutions linked to the needs and priorities of government entities, It contributes to enhancing efficiency, improving services, and strengthening the quality of decision-making.
She added that the success of AI adoption efforts does not rely solely on technology, but requires leadership capable of understanding its potential, setting priorities, making appropriate decisions, and leading teams towards its responsible and effective use.
She explained that the importance of this program stems from its aim to enable government leaders to access new insights and experiences and to explore the opportunities through which artificial intelligence can create a real and sustainable impact.
The program focuses on enabling leaders to move from a general perspective of artificial intelligence to strategically assessing its opportunities, identifying priority areas for application, building institutional justifications for its implementation, as well as understanding implementation requirements, data governance, risk management, and institutional change.
The program relies on use cases and challenges derived from the reality of participating institutions, allowing leaders to gain insights into global experiences and practices and to exchange experiences with their peers from various entities and sectors, thereby supporting the alignment of acquired knowledge and tools with the needs of their institutions and transforming them into initiatives and practical applications.
Mr. Ahmed Al-Dandashi, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, stated that effective utilization of artificial intelligence requires more than merely adopting technologies; it begins with leaders capable of linking technological capabilities with institutional priorities and transforming them into tangible value. He praised the cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology through the Qatar Digital Academy in this program, which contributes to equipping government leaders with the frameworks and tools necessary to identify AI opportunities, evaluate them, and lead their responsible and sustainable application.
The organization of the program for the second consecutive year comes as a continuation of the success achieved by the first edition and to continue investing in the development of government leadership and connecting global experiences and practices with the needs and priorities of government entities in the country, thereby supporting the achievement of the goals of the digital agenda.
