Doha: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met US Undersecretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights H E Uzra Zeya, in the presence of Erin Barclay, Senior Bureau Official in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor in Washington.
During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation in issues related to fields of labour, and ways to support and develop them
Dr. Al Marri highlighted the reforms of labour legislation in Qatar, noting that labour legislation is in line with Qatar Vision 2030.
He noted that Qatar continues to adopt a sustainable approach in improving and modernising the work environment legislation, stressing that Qatar highly values the joint efforts with international partners that have contributed to the modernisation of the labour sector in Qatar.
He stressed the close relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America, especially in the fields of labour, which enhances the exchange of expertise and cooperation to improve the labour market environment.
