Doha, Qatar: As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the readiness of mosques and prayer areas across vital locations in the country, a delegation from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs conducted a field inspection visit to the Hamad International Airport Mosque and its associated facilities.
The visit included the main prayer hall, dedicated prayer rooms, as well as prayer areas throughout the airport’s transit lounges, to review their readiness and the availability of all necessary services.
Representing the ministry on this visit was Mohammed Youssef Al Ibrahim, Director of the Engineering Affairs Department, who conducted a comprehensive tour to assess the readiness of the facilities and services associated with the mosque — including the cleanliness of the prayer areas, safety of equipment, and the overall efficiency of services provided to both travellers and worshippers.
During the visit, the delegation emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous cleanliness and organization in the airport’s worship facilities. They praised the high level of preparedness, cleanliness, and excellent arrangement — reflecting ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Awqaf and relevant entities at Hamad International Airport to ensure a spiritual atmosphere that enables worshippers to perform their prayers with tranquillity and reverence. The team also stressed the need for regular monitoring and evaluation of these essential facilities, given their role as a model for integrating religious services within one of the country’s most critical infrastructure hubs.
This visit comes as part of a broader series of field inspections conducted by the Ministry to ensure the readiness of mosques across Qatar. It reflects the Ministry’s dedication to its mission of caring for mosques and preparing them to fulfil their religious and social role.
The Ministry of Awqaf affirms that its efforts extend beyond the construction of mosques — encompassing the proper outfitting and preparation of these sacred spaces in a manner worthy of their spiritual significance and the needs of worshippers.
This includes providing support facilities, ensuring cleanliness, adequate air conditioning, and the safety of all infrastructure — particularly in public areas and high-traffic sites like airports, where many travellers rely on these services.
These efforts reflect the State’s significant attention — through the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs — to the care of mosques and their patrons, recognizing them as places of worship, beacons of guidance, and centres of spiritual, moral, and cultural enlightenment, serving as foundational pillars in Qatar’s value system.
