Doha, Qatar: As part of its efforts to enhance public health and achieve the goals of the “My Civilised City” initiative, Al Wakrah Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section, carried out 1,849 field inspection tours between August 4 and 10. These inspections targeted food establishments and the Al Wakrah Fish Market.
The inspections resulted in the issuance of two violations in accordance with Law No. (8) of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control. Approximately 68 kilogrammes of food unfit for human consumption was destroyed. Additionally, around 6,500 kilogrammes of fish displayed at the fish market’s daily auction were examined by a specialised veterinarian to ensure their safety.
