Obama : Iran Deal Built on Verification

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama on Tuesday defended the agreement with Iran to limit its nuclear program, saying it would deny Tehran a pathway to nuclear weapons and require international inspections for compliance.
"This deal is not built on trust," Obama said at the White House hours after news of the deal was announced from Vienna, where 18 months of negotiations were finally concluded. "It is built on verification."
The President said he would veto any attempt by the U.S. Congress to kill the agreement. Congress has a 60-day period in which it will review the accord. "I believe it would be irresponsible to walk away from this deal," he said. Obama was expected to make calls to world leaders during the day to explain the agreement.
