DOHA: Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) and Mowasalat Company in a new partnership agreement aims to work together to promote cancer prevention in the country. An agreement signed between Mowasalat and QCS states that the two parties will seek to establish and a mutual effective partnership. It also to pave the way for long-term cooperation in QCS’s awareness activities targeting the community.
According to the agreement Mowasalat will place QCS’s advertisements on a number of Karwa taxis and buses. QCS, in return, will place an advertisement for Mowasalat in QCS’s magazine, Al Amal (or Hope). Al Amal is a quarterly magazine concerned with health and community awareness. QCS has also expressed its willingness to participate and provide health awareness in the events and activities organised by Mowasalat.
Dr Dera Mejeb Al Dosari, Chairman of QCS Cultural and Social Committee, said “By organising joint events and various agreements between QCS and the civil society institutions, we are keen to educate the society as a whole on the causes and ways of prevention of cancer. In addition, we seek to raise the community’s awareness of the significant psychological impact which cancer has on the patient and the ideal ways to deal with it.”
Khalid Kafoud, Mowasalat public relation Manager, said that the company attaches due attention to participating in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in order to achieve community development in Qatar, whether such development is environmental, economic or human. As part of its efforts in this area, Mowasalat has been keen to cooperate with QCS to launch an awareness drive for protection from Cancer.
QCS is specialised in taking and implementing all possible means to fight cancer in Qatar. It also provides the necessary support to alleviate the intensity of this disease for patients and help them. In addition, QCS executes all the necessary projects designed to raise the community’s awareness of ways of cancer prevention.
The Peninsula
