Doha, Qatar: Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) is participating the Ordinary General Meeting of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), held in Madrid, Spain, on yesterday - Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
QFMA is represented at the meeting by Ali Beraik Shafeea (pictured), Acting Director of Securities Offering & Listing Affairs Department.
The agenda topics of the three-day meeting include developments in digital assets, the importance of data quality and validation, the implementation of international standards in financial markets – Benefits and Challenges, and role of ANNA and its members in international standards. The meeting will also discuss ways to strengthen cooperation relations among member states, update the ANNA strategic initiatives and programs, as well as discuss many topics and issues on membership applications, partnership, and internal rules.
QFMA joined ANNA membership in 2015 with the purpose of applying international best practices in developing financial markets, providing stability and transparency, and protecting dealers in securities, especially those related to facilitating trading.
ANNA was formed in 1992 under Belgian Law and specialises in applying international ISO standards for the capital market sector.
It aims to promote the use of international numbers as the only approved method for identifying financial instruments, in addition to standardising these issued numbers for securities within unified bases according to the standard (ISO 6166).
ANNA members consist of National Numbering Agencies (NNAs) concerned in numbering securities all over the world.
