Qatari-French event in Paris looks to build relations in education, research

Paris: Qatar participated in the Qatari-French days event which was aimed at building and developing bridges of cooperation and relations between Qatar and France in the field of higher education and scientific research through introducing systems and research centres in the two countries. It also looked to implement agreements in this field.

The Acting Undersecretary for Higher Education and the Director of Higher Education Institutional Affairs in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Khalid Abdulla Al Ali and Head of the Department of Strategy for International Relations Programmes at the Ministry of Higher Education of the French Republic, Jacome Nassar gave two separate presentations on the higher education institutions and research centres in the countries, including prospects of joint cooperation in this field. 

The Qatari delegation visited the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris and the SOLEIL Synchrotron research centre, specialised in studies of radiation horizons in all aspects of natural sciences. They discussed with its officials the feasibility of cooperation in areas of common interest.

The Qatari delegation included the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Unesco, H E Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab, and a number of officials in the concerned authorities in Qatar.
