Doha: Mall of Qatar (MoQ) recently participated in the Innovating Commerce Service Communities (ICSC) exhibition held in the US.
The three-day programme was organised by the ICSC, a trade association headquartered in New York. ICSC promotes the marketplaces and spaces where people shop, dine, work, play and gather as vital parts of communities and economies.
The event was designed to bring together shopping centres industry professionals, retailers, management and consulting companies, architects and design companies, entertainment and leisure companies, products and service providers to the industry.
Mall of Qatar team had a booth in the exhibition, presenting Qatar as a destination for businesses and tourists and showcasing both the mall and the development plans around it. It held several meetings with major global retail players and leading international luxury brands to foster potential partnerships that may see the brands enter the Qatari market.
Visitors to the booth were presented with the mall’s offerings and the ambitious future development plans that will see the mall expanding its facilities through a Welcome Park which features the first sky fountain in Qatar as well as multi-purpose terraces of shaded and cooled food and beverage outlets. The expansion will also feature an outdoor boulevard that boasts over 100 new units for retail stores, specialty stores, food and beverages (F&B), and entertainment concepts.
In addition to the Sherborne School, that delivers an outstanding 21st century education to around 1,500 students, the mall has in its vicinity the recently built Grand Zone residential area consisting of 15 towers featuring more than 1000 apartments and penthouses, which will house in excess of 4,000 residents steps away from the mall and will contribute to its growth and support the long-term vision of building a new active community with unique offerings and lifestyle within the same precinct.
