QIIB announces official launch of its mobile banking service
DOHA: International Islamic (QIIB) yesterday announced the official launch of its mobile banking service.
It features many innovative services and options, including transfer of funds and direct maps of branches and ATMs, and money transfer service with Western Union, the first of its kind in Qatar through the mobile banking service. It was launched last year and included services and benefits that made it easier for customers to know their account details and transfer money between internal and external accounts without visiting QIIB branches.
Jamal Abdullah Al Jamal (pictured), Deputy Chief Executive Officer, QIIB, said: “We are pleased with the official launch of the service which became a banking necessity in the modern world where smart technologies and services are required to allow customers to perform their banking transactions wherever they are and at any time.
“QIIB’s team worked on developing a mobile banking service to be the virtual branch in the hands of customers. The bank is distinguished by launching a money transfer service with Western Union through mobile banking for the first time in Qatar. It allows customers to perform their transactions in a few minutes and spares them trouble of going to money transfer centres and wait for a long time. We are delighted with the partnership with Western Union in launching it within our mobile banking service,” he added.
QIIB mobile banking offers distinct services, including viewing details of accounts and finances and transferring funds in and outside Qatar with a maximum daily amount of QR100,000. Customers can also transfer funds directly through Western Union service up to $7,500 per day (about QR27,375), pay Ooredoo bills and recharge directly and pay Kahramaa bills. The service is available on all smartphones, including iPhones, Android and Windows Phones in addition to BlackBerry, where all customers need to do to take advantage of the service is download QIIB Mobile available in all app stores, use a debit card (ATM card) and insert their PIN number to complete registration and enjoy a unique experience of banking services in the virtual world.The Peninsula
