Qatar Meteorology warns of rising temperatures and strong winds this weekend

Doha, Qatar: Temperatures are expected to rise further this weekend, with warnings issued for strong wind and high seas. 

The Qatar Meteorology Department said in its weather forecast that temperatures will range between a minimum of 31°C and a maximum of 41°C. 

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, the weather will be relatively hot during the day, becoming moderate at night. Winds will be mainly at 8-18 knots, gusting to 25 knots at times. Wave heights will range between 3 and 6ft, rising to 8ft at times. 

Wind will shift from northwesterly to northeasterly on Friday, May 15, 2026, with gusts reaching up to 25 knots during the daytime. Wave heights will be 2 and 4 feet, rising to 8 feet at times. 

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the department forecasts partly cloudy conditions at times, with temperatures becoming moderate during the night.  

Winds will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly at 5-15 knots, while wave heights will vary from 1 to 4ft, rising to 6ft at the beginning of the day.
