Ivory Coast attack toll climbs to 18

Abidjan: The death toll from an attack claimed by Al-Qaeda on an Ivory Coast beach resort has climbed to 18, including three special forces troops, Interior Minister Hamed Bakayoko said Monday.

The minister also said that "three terrorists" were killed in Sunday's assault on Grand-Bassam, after the government initially said six assailants were killed.

The previous toll stood at 14 civilians dead plus two special forces troops.
