DOHA: The expanded C Ring Road, expected to be fully ready by May-end, will have several signalised pedestrian crossings.
Along with the expansion work under way, the existing traffic intersections on the road are being renovated.
All the signs on the road are being changed and the street lights are being replaced as well.
After the road expansion work is complete the capacity of this major thoroughfare will increase by at least 25 percent.
The road had three lanes on each side, which will be increased to four, and the roundabouts are being changed into signalised intersections.
Al Sharq reported quoting unnamed sources that the development work on the road will not be delayed and will be finished on time, by May-end.
Service roads are also being improved and smaller roads joining the C Ring Road are being expanded to reduce pressure on the ring road.
