Doha: The Media Center for Youth affiliated with the Ministry of Culture participated in the celebration of World Radio Day, which falls on February 13 of each year.
The center produced introductory publications to the Radio Broadcasting Department of the Ministry of Culture, and the services it provides for licensing all types of radio broadcasts, in addition to a short film of Qatar Radio about its archive full of achievements, during which, several broadcasters who left a mark were interviewed about what this annual occasion means to them.
The Director of the Media Center Jawaher Al Badr said in statements that the Center is keen to contribute and participate in these global occasions, which represent an added value for many sectors, especially the media.
She pointed out that the Media Center for Youth has set within its training media plan for the current year 2022 a series of training courses for those wishing to enter this field, through cooperation between the center and a number of Qatari radio stations. She stressed that the plan will include field and theoretical training to discover talents in this vital media field to contribute to providing the radio with more Qatari talents interested in the field.
The celebration of World Radio Day was conceived by the Spanish Academy of Radio, and was officially presented by the Spanish permanent delegation to Unesco at the 187th session of the Executive Council in September 2011. It was then approved by Unesco on November 3, 2011, in its 36th session held on February 13 as World Radio Day.
