Cairo: Palestinian National Council's Secretary General Ambassador Mohammed Sobeih hailed Qatar's efforts to support the rights of the Palestinian people, stressing that it's concerned with great care on the rights of the Palestinians and works constantly to restore them.

No one can deny the role of the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian people in all international forums, he added.

Ambassador Sobeih praised the financial support provided by Qatar on the ground, both in the Gaza Strip or for the entire Palestinian territories, pointing out that Qatar is working in a very important area to support the Palestinian cause, praising Qatar's great role in the financial support to the State of Palestine, not only for the Gaza Strip, but because Gaza is the most place in need of support, whether politically, financially or economically.

He pointed out that all Palestinian people resist settlement and pay the price of murder, martyrdom and arrest all the time, with more than 600 Palestinian activists were arrested in one month, including children and women who defend against Palestinian land's settlement. He added that the Palestinian people and their leadership are united in this matter against settlement and stressed that with the continuation of Israeli settlement there will be no peace and no two-state solution.

Sobeih said that the whole world stands against settlements, but the problem is for those who stand lenience and do not have a deterrent and executive decisions. He also criticized the policy of double standards, but he relies on the Arab position and the Palestinian-Arab cohesion against settlement, going to international forums, especially the international courts and the UN Security Council.

He stressed that the most important clauses of Security Council are to maintain international peace and security, adding that if the settlement is the biggest threat to peace and stability in this region, so clear decisions must be taken and the resolution 2334 and international decisions of the Palestinian cause should be implemented for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
