1,320 violations caught by Al Rayyan Municipality

Al Rayyan Municipality last year caught 1,320 violations during 8,861 inspection visits to different food outlets.

It has destroyed 472 whole sheep, 3,640kg of meat and 316 packed food items.

More than 500 samples were sent to the central laboratory for checking, and the value of fine was QR2.639m.

About 105 temporary permits and 12 export certificates were issued , in addition to 1,168 visits for issuing new commercial permits.

Meanwhile, a number of violations were caught by Al Wakra Municipality during inspection visits to butcheries to check their compliance with the health regulations.

The inspection visits were conducted by the health monitoring section at Al Wakra Municipality in collaboration with the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. 

To maintain food safety and to respond to people's complaints, the Doha Municipality made a plan to divide inspectors to conduct visits from 7am to 3am the next day.

Also, the public have been urged to report violations.
