Qatar’s Keshaisha off to good start in GCC event

DOHA: Qatar had mixed success in the GCC Billiard and Snooker Championship which began here on Friday. Qatar’s Muhsen Bu Keshaisha defeated Ahmad Janahi of Bahrain 4-0 in Men’s Snooker event while the other Qatari player Mohammad Al Benali suffered a 2-4 defeat against Sadeq Abdulaziz of Bahrain.
In Billiard event, Qatar’s Mohammad Saeed defeated Abdulsalam Al Boloushi 7-4. The event features the participation of four teams including; United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and hosts Qatar.
The Qatari billiard squad includes Abdullatif Al Fawal, Muhana Al Naimi, Bashar Hussain, Ali Al Obaidli and Mohammad Saeed. In Snooker competitions, Qatar is represented by Muhsen Bu Keshaisha, Ahmad Saif, Mohammad Al Benali, Zayed Al Khayarin and Abdullah Al Suwaidi.
Meanwhile, holders Qatar were drawn in Group A alongside; South Korea, Oman, Japan, Syria and Macau 2015 for the Asian Handball  championship draw. Group B includes hosts Bahrain, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and Lebanon. The championship will be staged from January 15 to 28,  2016 and will act as a qualification event for the 2017 world championship in France.
