Doha, Qatar: Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, secured second place in the 12th edition of the Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for Security Research, under the individual category.
The Ministry said this on its social media, adding that his research, titled “The Impact of Social Media Networks on Increasing Security Risks to the Gulf Family from the Perspectives of Security Experts and Gulf Families in the State of Qatar – A Survey Study on Instagram and Snapchat Platforms During the Period 2023–2024,” explored how social media influences family security within Gulf societies.
The winners were honoured during the 42nd meeting of the Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, held in the State of Kuwait, in the presence of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior, the Secretary-General of the GCC, and several senior security leaders and officials.
