Dubai: Pakistan were 172 for no loss at dinner on the opening day of the first day-night Test against West Indies in Dubai on Thursday.

Openers Azhar Ali (89) and Sami Aslam (75) were unseparated in a solid stand after Pakistan won the toss at Dubai stadium and opted to bat in only the second ever pink ball Test.

Australia and New Zealand featured in the first day-night match in Adelaide in November last year, the first-ever in Test cricket's 140-year-old history.
