DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care (Ihsan) organised an awareness workshop for elderly women under the title ‘My strength is my investment’ yesterday. Dr Suhail Awad, consultant and trainer, made presentation at the workshop for two days.
Dr Suhail discussed how to invest time and the real definition of ‘investment’. The audience was told how they can manage their investments, regarding time and money, how one can develop a mindset of investment at an early age and then not suffer when they grow older. Dr Suhail described how a millionaire thinks and how a monthly income can be managed.
Real life stories were shared with the women to make it easy for them to understand how to spend their time and money, like the stories of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) related to the investment of time.
The investment of money is very difficult for older people to understand, and how to manage their pension.
“I would like to attend more workshops like these. I learnt a lot from these workshops. These are good for us, we got knowledge of what we didn’t learn in our early ages”, said Umm Khalid at the workshop.
“The aim of this workshop is to educate older women about the economic aspects in life, make them understand all the matters of life that include financial aspects as at the age of retirement the salary reduces. It is very important to make them aware about the most influential aspects on their lives,” said  Dr Moza Al Ishaq, PhD, Executive Director of the Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Programme.
