DOHA: Qatar continues its support for efforts aimed at the success of the Libyan dialogue held under the auspices of the United Nations (UN), which seeks to reach political agreement and announce government of national unity.
In a statement released today, the Foreign Ministry welcomed proposals reached by Libyan dialogue team in the last round held the Moroccan city of Skhirat overseen by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to form a government of national unity.
The ministry expressed thanks to all UNSMIL's employees and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya Bernardino Leon in particular for their efforts in facilitating the dialogue and leading up to this crucial stage of the agreement.
It added that Qatar will continue to provide all kinds of support to form the next government and build the Libyan state through concerted efforts of the Libyan parties and the participation of all components.
The ministry urged the international community to continue to provide support to Libya and back its efforts for a peaceful and civil state.
