Qatar’s Tech Start-Up Community Participating in e-Commerce Forum on October 19

More than 10 Qatari e-commerce start-ups will have an opportunity to share their experiences, success stories, challenges, and potential as well as participate in a sideline exhibition during Qatar’s e-Commerce Forum 2015 organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and which features 27 iconic experts from Google, Uber, PayPal, Visa,PayFort, and others.

One of the forum’s panels -- Qatar-Based e-Commerce Startups: Prospects and Challenges -- will be fully dedicated for Qatari entrepreneurs and startups. The panel, moderated by Dr. Maher Hakim, Associate Professor, Innovation Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Melon University in Qatar, will examine the challenges businesses face to scaling up and growing locally or regionally. In this panel, e-commerce start-ups will share their experiences, successes, challenges, and potential.

Qatar released its e-Transactions and e-Commerce Law in 2010 in order to foster business usage of e-commerce. As is the case around the globe, the number of online shoppers in Qatar is on the rise, with consumers switching to online portals for time and efficiency.

H.E. Dr. Hessa Al-Jaber, Minister of Information and Communications Technology will kick off the event by setting the agenda for e-commerce in Qatar. The forum also features several iconic digital marketing experts from Uber, Vodafone and Marka dot com.

All enthusiasts and aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs trying to grow their e-commerce business will find this forum tremendously beneficial.
