Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday received a phone call from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. They reviewed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, particularly the situation in Libya.
The UN Secretary-General expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Emir for Qatar’s efforts in supporting the dialogue team by cooperating with the secretary general’s special envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon, under the umbrella of the United Nations, to reach a comprehensive political agreement to form a consensus government that brings back to Libya political and social unity and works to achieve the aspirations of the fraternal Libyan people.
Emir praised the efforts of the secretary general’s special envoy to Libya in bringing closer points of view and reaching a common ground to move steadily towards stability, security, construction and growth.
Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to King Felipe VI of Spain on the occasion of his country’s National Day.
Emir also sent yesterday a cable of greetings to President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Republic of Belarus.
