DOHA: Two-time former world champion and current holder of the WBC Silver Welterweight Amir Khan found time to visit the iconic Museum of Islamic Arts in Doha yesterday. The British boxer enjoyed himself on his day out across the capital.
He also visited the Katara Cultural Village, Khan said: “Doha just keeps getting better and better, I really love it here. Everything is so beautiful, and it’s such a warm and hospitable place. I’m obviously here for the World Boxing Championships as a guest of the Qatar Boxing Federation and AIBA, but thankfully I’ve found time to visit a few sites like the Museum of Islamic arts. As a Muslim it was great to see all the ancient artefacts, and the whole experience was simply incredible. It’s really nice to see what Qatar has done to preserve Islamic culture.”
