Doha, Qatar: The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority will hold a press conference tomorrow (September 14) to announce Qatar’s hosting of the sixth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention, scheduled to take place from September 21 to 23 under the chairmanship of President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority H E Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad.
The press conference will be held at the authority’s headquarters and will outline preparations for the upcoming regional gathering, which brings together Arab states to strengthen cooperation in preventing and combating corruption.
The Conference of States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention serves as an institutional framework for monitoring the implementation of the convention, enhancing coordination and cooperation among states parties, and exchanging expertise and successful practices in the field of corruption prevention and combating corruption.
The sixth session is expected to address several key issues, including strengthening the mechanism for reviewing implementation of the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention. The mechanism aims to monitor progress achieved by member states, identify challenges facing Arab countries and explore ways to overcome them. The agenda will also focus on enhancing preventive measures, developing financial investigations, expediting mutual legal assistance, and promoting transparency in beneficial ownership, including the disclosure of ultimate beneficial owners.
The conference represents an important platform for Arab countries to share experiences, strengthen institutional capabilities and develop coordinated approaches to addressing corruption-related challenges.
