Doha, Qatar: Qatar is accelerating its national development framework by targeting comprehensive skill-building in digital technology and professional readiness, positioning human capital as the cornerstone of its knowledge-based economy.
In a recent post, the National Planning Council (NPC) noted that Qatar has transcended traditional educational paradigms to comprehensively equip its future generations by recognising that human capital represents the ultimate core and origin of sustainable investment.
The council said, “Recognising that minds are the origin and essence of investment, the State of Qatar transcends the horizon of traditional education to empower tomorrow’s generations with digital skills, innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional awareness.”
Through an integrated, multi-institutional approach focusing on digital literacy, advanced technological skills, entrepreneurship, and rigorous professional awareness, NPC stressed that the country is steadfastly molding a resilient vanguard of young leaders destined to guide the nation toward its ambitious milestones.
“Efforts in which state institutions integrate to prepare promising leaders who complete the journey of development and contribute effectively to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030,” it said.
At the forefront of leadership cultivation is the Qatar Leadership Centre, which successfully spearheaded the Leaders of Tomorrow Camp 2026. This flagship initiative focused intently on refining the personal and professional acumen of 100 high-achieving secondary school students.
The curriculum was meticulously curated across critical pillars designed to foster holistic development, including leadership, entrepreneurship, teamwork, creative thinking, and dedicated community service. By instilling these values early, the programme ensures that promising minds transition seamlessly from academic theory to impactful social participation.
In alignment with the global shift toward a knowledge-based digital economy, the Qatar Computing Research Institute under Hamad Bin Khalifa University operates the year-round Creative Space. This specialised hub offers continuous, cutting-edge workshops that immerse students in crucial technological domains. Participants gain hands-on expertise in advanced fields such as programming, robotics, electronics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, app development, and 3D design and printing.
These intensive technical incubators ensure that Qatar’s youth are not merely consumers of modern technology, but active creators and innovators.
Further expanding the ecosystem of youth empowerment, the Qatar Scientific Club under the Ministry of Sports and Youth delivers specialised, high-impact programmes.
These include the comprehensive STEM programme for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the Future Engineer initiative for practical engineering exploration, the Young Inventors project designed to turn raw ideas into tangible commercial realities, and specialised Camps focusing on advanced data analysis and digital technologies.
The MoEHE orchestrated a massive portfolio of activities. Spanning five dedicated summer centres, these programmes engaged over 950 students through 571 unique activities, backed by active collaborations with 28 governmental and institutional partners.
