Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi stressed the important role played by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) in supporting education, heritage and culture, preserving and protecting cultural and human heritage and promoting science and scientific research.
During his meeting with members of the Executive Council of the Unesco, the Minister expressed Qatar’s support for Unesco and its activities in the fields of education, culture, science, technology and media. He also expressed Qatar’s hope for the success of H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Cultural Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate for the director-general at the Unesco, in the upcoming election, stressing Qatar’s commitment to support his candidacy which will significantly achieve the goals and aspirations of Member States.
The Minister also touched on the unjust siege imposed on the State of Qatar, stressing its positive results on the Qatari society in terms of making it more productive and dedicated, stronger and more loyal to their leadership.
