Gaza: The Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that the Gaza Governorate Police Chief was martyred in an Israeli airstrike targeting his vehicle on Al-Rashid Street.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported in an earlier statement that one person was martyred and two others injured in the same airstrike, without identifying the victims.
The incident follows the killing of one Palestinian and the injury of another in an Israeli occupation airstrike targeting Khan Younis, as Israeli occupation forces continue artillery shelling and gunfire in eastern areas of the Gaza Strip.
According to the latest update issued on Thursday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,389, while the number of injured has reached 174,266.
The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli entity reached last October has failed to halt the attacks, which continue to target areas across the Gaza Strip and its population.
