Aljazeera Media Institute offers 115 courses in second half of 2023

Doha, Qatar: Zakir Zakir Smailagic, director of training department at Aljazeera Media Institute has said that the Institute will launch during the second half of the current year 115 public courses for public at large, covering different fields of journalism, media and public relations including nine specialised workshops.

“Media Culture” and “Video Script Writing for Digital Platforms” workshops are the most modern workshops added to this specialized workshops group.

Zakir added: “Training Department held during preceding July eleven specialized courses, six of which were allocated for public including young age groups and online courses, while the other five courses were held for the interest of corporates and private entities." He also added that his department will hold a number of specialised courses during the current month for young age groups.

Regarding experts and trainers of the institute, Zakir said: “The Institute is distinguished by having an affiliated group of trainers, including stars of Al Jazeera screens and veteran journalists who have worked for many years with the network or with prestigious media institutions. Accordingly, they are renowned for their excellence, efficiency and relying on an accumulated experience of qualify trainees in different media skills.” He pointed out that the number of trainers at the institute currently reaches 176 trainers, most of them are Al Jazeera Media Network’s staff who can deliver various specialised media courses.

Zakir pointed out that one of the most prominent programme of his department was a training programme designed for 65 employees of AJ+ platform under the name of “Copyright and intellectual property in Digital Journalism”.

The training program was launched early January throughout last June 2023, led and supervised by trainer Ahmed Ashara, where he held four training courses of 28 hours each.
