'Love of Homeland' gallery opened

A gallery called "Love of Homeland" opened at the offices of the Ministry of Culture and Sport in Al Dafna, featuring 35 art works from the different art schools to express love of the country and reaffirm loyalty to Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The gallery shows the works of 29 artists, of which 23 are Qataris. It is the outcome of an activity that was held during Eid Al Fitr as an initiative by Qatari and resident artists to document the state of solidarity between the people and the Emir during the ongoing siege by some Gulf states.
Ahmed Jassim Al Kuwari, head of the Ministry of Culture and Sport's Department of Culture and Arts, expressed his delight to see the different works that reflected "different and distinguished patriotic ideas," saying that the gallery didn't take long to prepare; however, it presented outstanding works, which showed that the participant artists are indeed "talented" in fine art, particularly since some of them painted their works in only 24 hours. At the gallery, different works, methods and concepts reaffirmed loyalty to the homeland and its leader H H the Emir. The works portrayed the siege and the Qatari people who are facing the challenge and expressing love for the country.
Fine artist Mariam Al Mulla said her art work that participates in the gallery expresses the Qatari people's love for their country, adding that the use of pure gold leaves is indicative of the sacrifices that Qataris are willing to exert for the homeland and the Emir. A Thai artists participated with a painting about Doha skyscrapers with cars bearing slogans supporting the Emir. He said he wanted to show Doha beauty, especially Al Dafna area.
Sudanese artist Fatima Ibrahim, a student at the Sudanese school, participated with two works; a monochrome painting for the Emir and a portrait featuring Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan, saying that they express "the love and appreciation of the Sudanese people to the State of Qatar and its leadership" and shows "solidarity against the unjust siege by some countries."
A Turkish artist participated with a mural bearing a painting for the Emir and a supportive message in solidarity with Qatar and its leadership.
