Doha: Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre’s (KMCC) Industrial Area Branch has announced an initiative to build homes for Keralite expatriates.
The initiative is part of Shihab Thangal Baithurahma programme launched by the Muslim League Central Committee in Kerala.
“KMCC has realised that the dream of owning a home still remains a dream after years of struggle. A lot of people from the Keralite community struggle to meet daily demands of life and building a house is often a dream. There are expatriates who start to build homes but are unable to complete them due to financial or personal constraints while others live in rented apartments,” Organizing Committee Vice-Chairman K Mohammed Isa told a press conference in the KMCC office in Hilal.
In the first phase, the branch will build five homes in one year under the title ‘Pravasi Baithurahma’. “Anyone who feels the suffering is free to apply for project,” Isa said, adding the deadline for applications is August 1.
Baithurahma Organising Committee Convener and KMCC State General Secretary Abdul Naser Nachi, Publicity Convener Rasheed NTK, KMCC Industrial Area officials Mohammed Perambra, Arshad Koothuparambu and Latheef Pathiripatta were present.
