Doha, Qatar: The city of Riyadh witnessed the closing ceremony of the GCC Smart Investor Award, which was organised by the Saudi Capital Market Authority and during which the winners of the various award categories were honored.
From Qatar, two students, namely, Dima Saqr Al-Hadar and Farah Ibrahim Ahmed, won in the award category of drawing. Both are from Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory School for Girls, and they were honored during the ceremony.
The winners were selected in accordance with the strict criteria of a special committee formed to supervise the award and evaluate the participants. It included several experts from the GCC countries.
The organisation of this award, in its second edition, comes within the framework of the joint GCC Investment Awareness Program, Mulim, which was launched by the authorities and bodies regulating the financial markets in the GCC countries since
2020.
Since that time, the Authority has actively contributed to the success of the program in all its stages, with the aim of raising the level of awareness among investors in Qatar and the GCC countries, spreading awareness about the fundamentals of investment in financial markets, fraud methods and risks, emphasizing the need to adopt strategies that mitigate these risks, and introducing regulations and legislations that govern transactions in financial markets with a view to increasing efficiency and safety standards therein.
The award categories included drawing, writing, photography, and videography, while the topics covered by the award included: saving, financial planning, sound financial habits, sound spending, financial terminology, expenditure, extravagance and overspending, money and currencies, investment, financial fraud, deposit and investment protection.
Applicants for the award included three categories: individuals, university students, and school students.
The number of participants who applied for the award from Qatar was 155 participants in all categories, while the total number of participants from all the GCC countries exceeded 45 thousand, including more than 25 thousand from Saudi Arabia alone.
On the sidelines of the honoring ceremony, an award exhibition was held during which the works of the first-place winners from each category were displayed, and the most prominent contributions from the submitted works were also presented.
