ExxonMobil Qatar presents partner Qatargas with prestigious awards

Doha, Qatar: ExxonMobil Qatar has awarded Qatargas with its Annual EMQL President’s ‘Asset of the Year’ Award and EMQL President’s ‘Goal Zero’ Award for the year 2022.

ExxonMobil Qatar’s President and General Manager, Dominic Genetti, presented the awards to two Qatargas asset teams in the presence of Qatargas’ Chief Executive Officer, Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, and members of the Qatargas Management Leadership Team (MLT) at a ceremony held at Qatargas headquarters in Doha.

The objective of the awards is to recognize Qatargas operating asset teams that have demonstrated significant contributions toward achieving the company’s vision, mission and values by delivering on a combination of financial and operational performance metrics in process and personnel safety, environmental, mreliability, production and cost management. 

The Asset of the Year Award, which recognises overall outstanding performance in safety, reliability, operations excellence and production, celebrating exemplary results, often in the face of extraordinary challenges, was awarded to Qatargas 2 asset (onshore and offshore) for its exceptional performance during the year 2022. The award was received on behalf of the asset team by Ahmad Ashkanani, Onshore Operations Manager North, Hussain Mohammed Al-Aqeedi, Head of Sulfur Recovery Unit (QG2), Hathal Al-Dosari, Maintenance Manager, Nawaf Al-Mohannadi, Offshore Operations Manager, and Jumah Yaaqob Al-Kaabi, Offshore Installation Manager.

The Goal Zero Award, which recognizes outstanding personnel and process safety performance with zero

Tier 1 or 2 process safety event or recordable injuries was awarded to Laffan Refinery 1 (LR1), QG2, and Qatargas North Offshore team for an outstanding safety record during the year 2022. The award was received on behalf of the team by Ahmad Ashkanani, Onshore Operations Manager North, Hussain Mohammed Al-Aqeedi, Head of Sulfur Recovery Unit (QG2), Nawaf Al-Mohannadi, Offshore Operations Manager, Abdullah Khalid Idris, RLTO & Refining Manager, Meshal Al-Saoud, Refining Asset Manager and Hathal Al-Dosari, Maintenance Manager.

“I’m delighted to present our long-term partner Qatargas with these two awards. Both asset teams have shown their outstanding leadership in safety management and performance practices as a reflection of Qatargas’ culture of safety, and deserve to be celebrated” said Genetti.

We wish the entire Qatargas team continued success and outstanding safety performance” he added.
