Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) organised yesterday a blood donation campaign for its employees in cooperation with the Blood Donation Centre at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), coinciding with the World Blood Donor Day.
The campaign witnessed a huge turnout from QNA employees, who were keen to donate, as a contribution to strengthening the HMC blood bank stock, which constantly needs large quantities of blood from various types.
The donation process was carried out through the centre’s blood donation truck, which received the donors since the morning. The world celebrates the World Blood Donor Day on June 14 annually. The event represents an opportunity to express thanks to voluntary blood donors without compensation in exchange for their blood given as a gift to save lives.
