Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has issued its annual report, which coincides this year with the 20th anniversary of its establishment, under a slogan ‘Sustainable Development Impact’.

The report included two axis. The first reviewed the achievements of the Foundation since its inception in 2001 until 2021. It also included an overview of the journey of Late Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor bin Muhammad Al Thani and his great contributions locally and internationally.

The Foundation was established based on the will of one-third made by the late Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor bin Muhammad Al Thani, which was known at the time as Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani Charitable Foundation, which formed the basis for the advancement of this charitable and humanitarian edifice.

H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, the founding member, added a personal support to it, and its name became Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation. Over the past 20 years, the Foundation implemented projects at a cost of over QR543,487,000 benefiting about 13 million people around the world.

The second axis of the report reviewed the most important projects and initiatives launched by the Foundation during 2021, achievements and their humanitarian impact on a number of societies around the world, especially at education and health sectors, following the vision of the Foundation ‘Health and Education for a Better Life’.

The report starts with an exceptional and special speech by H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani on this occasion, during which he made it clear that over 20 years, Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, which was established on the basis of the will of one-third made by the late Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor bin Mohammed Al Thani implemented many pioneering projects in the fields of housing, health and education in several countries in Asia and Africa addressing humanitarian issues.

He said that the Foundation built full-fledged residential villages, hospitals and primary and specialised health centers such as dialysis centers and those for rehabilitation and care of the disabled people. 

In the educational section, H E Sheikh Hamad said that the Foundation built many educational and vocational schools and institutes, in a contribution aimed at improving educational practices and improving their outputs in many countries.

He said that over past 20 years, the Foundation has contributed in improving living standards of a large number of people in need around the world, and wherever the need arises. 

Today, he said, the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation works on solid foundations and owns real estate and financial investments that it relies on to self-finance its projects. 

His Excellency also allocates annual personal support to the Foundation enabling to keep pace with the expansion and increase in investments and charitable development projects in all areas of humanitarian work.

For his part, Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, said: “Over the past 20 years, this humanitarian edifice has recorded a prominent presence in the field of charitable work at the local and international levels.”

During its journey, he said, the Foundation implemented many projects serving needy communities around the world, and supported their aspirations to live a better life following its vision ‘Health and Education for a Better Life’.

Sheikh Nawaf said that the Foundation had a special vision in achieving its goals, based on dedicating the concept of sustainability in the nature of its charitable work, which has taken a developmental character, and has clearly contributed to enabling needy peoples to own the tools of development.

On this occasion, Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri, CEO of the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, stressed that 2021 report is special because it reflects huge efforts made by the Foundation over the past 20 years, in addition to the start of the fruit-harvesting phase.

He said especially since 2021 witnessed completion of many vital projects in the fields of health and education in abroad, foremost of which is commissioning Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Integrated Rehabilitation Care in Gaza Strip.

In the same year, Al Hajri said the completion of construction work for the Sharifa Hospital in Marrakesh, Morocco was announced and the equipping process started which is expected to be completed in the near future.

He said that last year also witnessed the completion of the construction works of an educational complex in the Bharare district in the city of Jhang in the Punjab province of Pakistan. 

Al Hajri sadi that the Foundation also celebrated in 2021 the graduation of the first batch of students from the Hamad bin Jassim Institute for Industrial Training in State of Maharashtra, India and their joining to the labor market within their regions.

He said that the Foundation also continues to support the operation of Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani Primary Health Care Center in Azraq camp in Jordan which provides healthcare services to Syrian displaced people living in the camp.

The annual report included many articles from partners and beneficiaries that confirm the role of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation in the charitable field and the importance of partnerships built by the Foundation over two decades.
