Kingston, Jamaica--West Indies were 143-8 at stumps in reply to Australia's first innings total of 399 on the second day of the second and final Test at Sabina Park in Jamaica on Friday.
Australia's Steve Smith had earlier fallen just one run short of a first Test double century.
Australia won the first match by nine wickets last week.
