Doha, Qatar: Birla Public School has once again solidified its status as a powerhouse in regional sports, emerging as the Overall Champions in the girls’ category at the CBSE Qatar Cluster Handball Tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
The tournament, held at Shantiniketan Indian School from May 6 to May 10, 2026, saw the BPS teams showcase a masterclass in skill, strategy, and sportsmanship. This continued dominance in the arena underscores a sustained legacy of athletic excellence and a rigorous training culture that has become a hallmark of the institution. The BPS Team rose to glory outrunning the 17 teams from various CBSE schools across Qatar.
The school’s girls’ handball teams were the primary architects of this year’s success, delivering high-energy performances that captivated spectators throughout the competition. The Under-14 girls team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and tactical brilliance to remain undefeated, proudly securing the Gold Medal. Not to be outdone, the Under-19 girls Team exhibited remarkable resilience and a fierce competitive spirit across a series of high-stakes matches, ultimately earning a well-deserved Silver Medal.
The School Management, Principal, and staff have expressed immense pride in the Teams’ achievements, noting that this four-year winning streak is a direct result of the players’ unwavering grit and commitment.
Special recognition was accorded to the Coaches Sreekanth and Neha Khas, whose tireless efforts, expert technical guidance, and constant encouragement were identified as the pivotal factors behind the teams’ outstanding podium finishes.
