DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday launched “Lamsa” in Qatar, an educational app for children that aims to address the needs of Arabic-speaking kids through entertainment, education, and interactivity.
The first-of-its-kind application is designed for pre-schoolers up to six years old, and can be enjoyed by kids as young as 2-3 years, offering a collection of interactive stories, a wide range of entertainment content, colouring, rhymes, and games.
Lamsa is the first educational children’s app that Ooredoo has added to its increasingly rich portfolio of mobile content and apps. When the application has been launched in neighbouring countries, it has become the most downloaded app in the books, educational and children’s categories, and Ooredoo expects a similarly positive reception here. Lamsa’s content has been read more than 20 million times by Lamsa’s users.
The new service is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android. Parents can subscribe to the service by sending “SUB 1” to 92268. Once confirmed, the parent will receive an SMS with a link to download the application and verification code. Parents should enter the verification code in the Lamsa App and their children will be able to start enjoying the service immediately.
