Rome: The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) welcomed the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on April 8, supporting Qatar for hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022. The General Assembly adopted unanimously this resolution under the title “The 2022 World Cup organised by FIFA in Qatar”.
PAM in a statement on its website said the resolution was sponsored by 106 countries, under the item “Sport for Peace and Development; Building a Peaceful and Better World Through Sport and the Olympic Ideal”.
