QSE index increases 5 points

Qatar Exchange (QSE) index gained 5.18 points or 0.05 percent to close at 10,709.47 points yesterday compared to the previous closing of 10,704.29 on Wednesday. On the weekly basis, the index lost 7.87 points (0.07 percent) last week.
Trading value during the week decreased by 4.75 percent to reach QR1.08bn compared to QR1.13bn a week before. Trading volume decreased by 4.65 percent to reach 37 million shares, as against 39 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 10.68 percent, to reach 16,570 transactions as compared to 14,971 transactions.
Market capitalisation rose by 0.09 percent to reach QR576.3bn as compared to QR575.8bn at the end of previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 30.52 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 24.90 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.41 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.71 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 30.81 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 27.57 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 19.56 percent and Industries sector accounted 14.05 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 29.9 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 29.75 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.90 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.24 percent.
From the 44 listed companies 25 ended this week higher, while 17 fell and two unchanged. Industries Qatar led traded value this week accounted for 15.42 percent of the total traded value. Barwa Real Estate accounted for 6.98 percent and Vodafone Qatar accounted for 6.28 percent.
The volume of shares, yesterday, traded up to 7.9 million from 6.56 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR183.18m from QR206.26m on Wednesday.Out of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. Of these, 22 gained, 12 companies closed lower, and seven remained unchanged. Indices of four sectors ended in green and remaining three sectors ended in red yesterday.
QSE Total Return Index increased 0.05 to 17,327.22 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index added 0.11 percent to 3,978.90 points and QSE All Share Index gained to 0.04 percent to 2,937.94 points.
