4.8 magnitude earthquake hits southern Myanmar

Yangon: A minor earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale hit mountain region in southern Myanmar capital of Yangon. 

Myanmar Meteorological Center said the quake, which struck the region on Tuesday night was felt in many nearby towns of Yangon.

The power grid cut out in several townships before the gradual restoration of electricity supply over two hours.
