Doha: Minister of Sports and Youth H E Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, who is also President of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation has underlined that Saudi Arabia’s winning the honour of hosting the 2034 World Cup reflects the confidence of the international football family in the great position reached by the countries of the region, especially the Arabian Gulf countries.
In a press statement, H E Sheikh Hamad expressed his pride in this historic achievement that makes Saudi Arabia the second Arab and Muslim country to win the honour of hosting this global sporting event after the State of Qatar, congratulating the Kingdom on winning the honour of hosting the 2034 World Cup.
The Minister stressed that this achievement reflects the great international confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to organise an exceptional edition befitting its status and capabilities, as the Kingdom is fully qualified to host this major public event at the highest levels.
Concluding his statement, the Minister affirmed his full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in organizing this historic event, expressing his confidence that the tournament will be a model to be emulated at all levels.
