Doha, Qatar: Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari participated in a discussion session entitled “Breaking Barriers with Behavioral Science: Building Resilient Communities and Promoting Social Inclusion,” as part of the Doha Forum 2023 agenda.
During the session, Dr. Al Ansari highlighted the successful mediation efforts led by the State of Qatar, in partnership with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America, resulting in an agreement for a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip. This achievement paved the way for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the release of a number of detainees. Dr. Al Ansari reiterated Qatar’s commitment to continuing mediation efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the close cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) on a bilateral and multilateral level to promote regional and international peace and security.
Dr. Al Ansari also met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs H E Daniel Benaim, on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2023, currently in session.
The meeting discussed the remarkable development in the strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States in all areas, especially in the recent period, and emphasized the pivotal role of the State of Qatar in many issues important to the United States, and the importance of public diplomacy and communication in political action, in addition to the latest developments in the situation in Gaza Strip.
The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also met with an American delegation of a number of former officials, experts and thinkers, on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2023, currently in session.
The meeting discussed prospects for the State of Qatar’s mediation between Israel and Hamas, in addition to a number of regional and international issues.

The meeting discussed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip, and ways of cooperation between the Qatari and British sides for the entry of aid into the Strip. The two sides urged the international community to take action to remove obstacles to the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom H E Fahad bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.
