Lebanon to relocate 350 Syrian refugee families

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Lebanese authorities have demanded Friday that Syrian refugees in the northern Akkar district evacuate their camp, which includes 350 families, as part of a reorganization plan, a Lebanese security source said.

The source who spoke anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media, told Anadolu Agency that, the Lebanese authorities have given the displaced Syrian families in the Rihaniyya camp 10 days to evacuate.
The Rihaniyya camp is located in the Bebnine town of 30,000. It is considered the largest camp in Akkar, which has about 25 camps.
The 4.5 million-populated Lebanon, is hosting nearly 1.3 million registered Syrian refugees. According to UN reports, more than 70 percent of them live below the poverty line of $3.84 per day.
