Cairo: The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Arab Republic of Egypt has expressed deep sorrow over the death of three members of the Amiri Diwan following a traffic accident in the city of Sharm El Sheikh, which occurred while they were carrying out official duties.
According to a statement released by the Embassy, two others were also injured in the incident.
The deceased were Saud bin Thamer Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanem Al Khayarin, and Hassan Jaber Al Jaber.
Those who were injured in the accident are Abdullah Issa Al Kuwari and Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Buainain.
The Embassy said it immediately began coordinating with the relevant Egyptian authorities following the accident.
“The deceased and injured will be transferred to Doha on a Qatari aircraft today,” the statement read, adding that “the two injured are currently receiving the necessary medical care at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital.”
The Embassy extended its sincere condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. It also expressed gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for their cooperation and support in following up on the incident and providing the necessary assistance.
